    Trumbull’s impressive 1600 acres of green space brought it acclaim as the 7th “Best Town for Families” in 2010 by Family Circle and ranked it 15th on the list for the “Best Places to Retire” by US News and World Reports.  In both 2007 and 2009, Money Magazine rated the Town 68 of a 100 and 77 out of 100 respectively.  Connecticut Magazine voted Trumbull 9th in the State and RelocateAmerican.com rates it as one of the best quality of life towns in the country.

    Trumbull’s schools scored in reading 33.5% above the state average and in math 23.9% above state averages. The High School had a recent $68 million dollar renovation to update its buildings and grounds.  Its Marching Band (The Golden Eagles) won the Musical Arts Conference (MAC) conference in 2001 and 2003 as a Class IV  (71-91) size school.  They transitioned to ClassV  (92 members +) size and won 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2011.  The Golden Eagles marched in the 1988, 1997, 2001 and 2009 Presidential Inaugural Parades.  They marched in Hollywood, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, the New Orleans Mardi Gras and the Citrus Bowl.  Trumbull teams are winners in football, soccer, baseball and volleyball.  An impressive “We the People” Constitutional Debate team won the State Championship for 19 years, scoring top ten in the Nation three times.   Math teams and the drama department are also winners.  Professional baseball pitchers, professional and Olympic hockey players and professional soccer players have come out of Trumbull High.

    There are 18 Advanced Placement courses offered at Trumbull and it has one of the highest pass rates in Connecticut (90.7%)   Many students choose the courses for the challenge and they are accepted into the most competitive colleges.  In Connecticut, Trumbull ranked 18th of all the 164 School Districts in Connecticut (National Center for Education Statistics).

    Under Trumbull are the remains of a Tungsten mine with garnets, marble, marquisite and quartz. The mineral deposits are now filled in and covered over.  The railroads and mills that served the mine are long gone.  Over the remains is the beautiful Old Mine Park.

    Today Trumbull remains a landscape of rural vistas, farm meadows, wooded groves, rocky crests and the historic Nicholas Farms and Trumbull Centers.  The commercial strip malls and offices bring convenience while the restaurants and shops create charm.  Trumbull is not only a great recreation area and place to live, it is also the home of a 180+ store Mall right off the Merritt Parkway.  A true balance of attractive renovated antique homes as well as new clustered single-family developments provide a wide range of housing opions in Trumbull.
