In 2007 CNN’s Money magazine rated Wilton as one of the best places to live in the United States.  Residential Wilton has a rural feeling.  The YMCA is a community focal point along with its community theater (Wilton Play Shop) and local music groups like The Wilton Singers.   Wilton offers its residents 12 tennis courts and two pools.

Wilton’s farming history is seen in the fenced pastures that dot the town, and with its Cannon Grange Agricultural Fair held in August in the Cannondale section, the Ambler Farm Day with hayrides, and Community Nursery School of Wilton (CNSW) Pumpkin Festival. Its “Minks to Sinks” benefit is well known and provides financial support for the Family and Children’s Agency.

The US News Silver Medal (2007/8) awarded school system offers a dynamic and classical High School curriculum (Greek is taught – one of the few schools in the US). More than half of Wilton students take Advanced Placement courses and over 80% pass with a score of 3 or above.  90+% of students go on to college from Wilton High School.

The Town of Wilton is situated along the Route 7 Corridor, which features a mix of commercial strip centers, national box stores and offices. The quaint Cannondale section, a historic district with antique homes, small boutiques and restaurants stands in sharp contrast.  Wilton Center provides a compact area of condominiums, offices, restaurants and shops. Wilton’s proximity to Westport, Norwalk and New Canaan provides further shopping and entertainment.
